Diana HInman
currently resides in Wainfleet, Ontario. Diana came to Canada from the United Kingdom in 1967 having studied at both the Manchester College of Art and Design and the Birmingham College of Art.
Diana's work has been descibed as "abbreviated, semi-abstract and designerly". Her work is best described as a drawing / painting hybrid. Diana's linear almost architectural style and her unusual colour harmonies are unmistakable.
Artist's Statement:
"Each painting is a three way conversation between the subject, artist and canvas.
The artist's role is to make sure the canvas captures the spontaneity of the subject wh ile still exploring it's implications as truthfully and fluently as possible. Even so, a painting should 'be' and not 'mean'. The best artist's statement is the painting itself."
